Enhancing the exchange of medical data between vets and farmers

The study of [10] shows that there is a growing customer demand for food safety. We argue that this can only be reflected by providing an acceptable level of transparency over the entire life cycle of a product. In this paper, we present a system that comprises a medical application deployed on a PDA that feeds data through a pervasive middleware into an ERP system enabling farmers to monitor the state of health of their pigs by a Web interface.
